What an amazing week we had fundraising for shelter animals of Nantucket! Last week, the Seafari Girls worked hard making and giving dog treats away with a donation to the MSPCA. We set up in locations all over the island including Children’s Beach, downtown, Stop & Shop, and the Grand Union. We also offered lemon-aid this year which was great for families who didn’t own a dog. Thursday afternoon we went to the MSPCA for a tour and to give them the $400.00 that we raised. I couldn’t be more proud of the girls for their commitment to the animals and their excellent manners.
This fundraiser goes back over the last six years when we started to give back for all that the MSPCA did for my dog, Mason. He lived there for six months while looking for his new home and was taken care of like a king. Once I adopted Mason, he became the mascot to the Seafari Girls and went everywhere with camp. Since then, the Seafari Girls have raised hundreds every summer to benefit the animals currently living in the shelter.
